Editing auto-transfer rules

Please Note: The Instant Transfer feature is currently in beta and may not be available to all users. Stay tuned for full release details.

If you have created an auto-transfer rule and would like to edit or delete the rule, please follow the instructions outlined below.

How to edit auto-transfer rules

Web Mobile
  1. Sign in to your Relay account.
  2. On your Home page, click Move money at the top-right corner of your screen.
  3. Click Auto-transfer rules
  4. Any auto-transfer rules you have already created will be listed under Your auto-transfer rules
  5. Click the three vertical dots on the right-hand side of the rule you wish to edit, then click Edit auto-transfer rule. If you wish to permanently delete the rule, click Delete auto-transfer rule; if you wish to temporarily deactivate the rule, click on the toggle next to 'active'.
  6. If editing, make the desired changes to your auto-transfer rule, then click Edit auto-transfer rule at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
  7. Review your changes, then click Confirm auto-transfer rule. Your changes will be saved immediately.

Switching to Instant frequency (Beta Feature)

If you change a rule’s frequency to Instant, it will begin evaluating each transaction as it occurs. The rule will trigger the next time a transaction causes the account balance to exceed your set maximum.

Please Note: Updating the frequency alone will not trigger the rule immediately — a transaction must occur for the rule to activate.

Permissions

Only team members with Administrator permissions, or advisors with Super Administrator permissions, can create and/or edit auto-transfer rules.

Does switching to Instant make the rule run right away?

Not immediately. The rule will trigger when a new transaction meets the conditions of the rule—such as a deposit that pushes the account above the max balance.

Are there any limitations with Instant Auto-Transfers?

Yes. A few key things to keep in mind:

  • An account can't be both the source and destination in an Instant rule.
  • You can't set up multiple Instant rules from the same source account.
  • Savings accounts cannot be used as the source in any auto-transfer rule.
