Relay customers cannot close their accounts online; if you would like to close your account in full, you will need to contact our Customer Experience team for assistance.
If you only wish to close an individual checking or savings account within your Relay business account, please see Deleting a checking or savings account.
Please review the below steps before reaching out to our team with an account closure request.
What steps do I need to take to close my account?
- If any funds remain in your account, we first recommend disbursing the remaining funds to your external bank account. In the Payments tab of your Relay account, you can issue either an ACH, wire or check to your external account (please note the respective processing timelines and fees for each of these transaction types).
- Additionally, should you require statements at any point from your Relay account, we ask that you please download them prior to requesting account closure. Once your account has been deactivated, you will no longer be able to log into your account to access any statements.
- Once your account balance is at $0, there are no pending transactions within your account, and you've downloaded any required statements, please contact our team to close your account.
Does Relay charge a fee for closing accounts?
No, there is no fee associated with closing your Relay account.
Will I be able to log into my Relay account once it's been closed?
No, your Relay account will no longer be accessible once the account has been closed. You will also no longer have access to any statements.
Can I reopen my account again in the future?
If you're interested in reopening a Relay account once your account has been closed, you will need to sign up for a brand new account. Unfortunately, closed accounts cannot be reopened.
