Before ordering your checkbook

Before ordering your third-party checkbook, please make sure you have turned on the check-writing feature for your account, and have selected your designated check-writing account. For instructions on how to turn on check-writing, please see Enabling third-party check support.

Ordering your checkbook

You can order generic checks from vendors1 like ts-direct.com or from popular retailers like Staples, Sam's Club, Costco, and Walmart. Please note that the process of ordering a checkbook (including prices and shipping times) may vary depending on the vendor you’ve chosen.

When you order your checks you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Your business name as it appears on Relay.
  • Your business address.
  • The bank name and address, which are as follows: Thread Bank, 210 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857
  • A sequence number. This can be any number, but we suggest starting with 101, or 1001.
  • Your Relay routing number.
  • The account number for your check-writing account.
  • A bottom row of numbers; this will be your routing number, plus your account number. Do not use spaces or dashes.

Please note: some retailers may not ship to PO boxes, and may require that the checks be shipped to the same business address printed on the check.

Where can I find my account and routing numbers?

The account number you must provide when ordering third-party checks is the one associated with your check-writing account. To find your check-writing account number, please follow the below steps on your desktop:

  1. Log into your Relay account on your desktop.
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  3. Click on Checkbooks along the left-hand side panel.
  4. Scroll to the bottom to locate your account information, including the account number for your check-writing account.

Does Relay provide checkbooks?

How long will it take for my checkbook to arrive in the mail?

The check provider does not recognize my routing number, what should I do?

The check provider is asking for something not on the list above, what should I do?

Please reach out to our Customer Experience team if you have any questions about what to enter when ordering your checkbooks.
