Paying a Payment Request

At Relay, businesses have the ability to send payment requests to their customers. If you are a customer of a business that uses Relay and received a payment request, you’ve come to the right place!

What are the different payment types?

If you’ve received a payment request, you’ll be asked to send a payment using one of the following payment options: Credit/Debit Card, ACH/Domestic Wire or Pay by bank (ACH). The business requesting funds will decide which payment options will be available. Please note: Only one individual contact can submit payment for a request. Multiple contacts cannot pay for one payment request link.

• Credit/Debit Card allows you to input your card information to submit a payment. As the payer, you will not be charged any fees.
• ACH/Domestic Wires allows you to send a payment directly to a business’ account using their ACH/Wire details. Your bank may charge fees so please be sure to review any fees with your bank.
• Pay by bank (ACH Debit) allows you to authorize an ACH debit directly from your bank account. We use Plaid as a third-party service to validate your account information. Your account information is not shared with the business using Relay.

What if my bank doesn’t connect with Plaid?

If your bank cannot connect to Plaid, you will need to submit a payment using another accepted payment option. 

How do I submit a payment using the request link?

• First, confirm that the payment information request is correct and that the amount and business name match a recent service/product received.
• Choose a Payment Option
  • Credit/Debit Card Payment
    • Input your card details
    • Click Confirm
  • ACH/Domestic Wire
    • Choose either ACH or Domestic Wire bank details
    • Use the provided details to create and send a payment from your bank account via your banking app or in a branch.
      • If you pay via your banking app; the payment request screens have buttons that allow you to easily copy the required fields so you can paste them into your app.
  • Pay by bank (ACH Debit)
    • Select your bank account from the list of banks (or search for their bank in the search bar)
    • Login to your bank account
      • This will depend on the bank you are connecting with and their security measures
      • Please note; that specific Bank 2FA will likely be asked
    • Select the account you want to pay with
    • Confirm the payment
