Relay partners with Currencycloud to provide Collection, Foreign Currency Exchange, and Payment services, to enable our customers to make and receive global payments. As of March 31, 2025, Relay will only be able to receive international wires via the Swift network in USD currency. Other currencies (EUR, GBP, and CAD) will still be supported but must be sent using Local Network instead of Swift.
What are the new wire details?
Due to this change, there are now four different wire details for receiving international payments, depending on whether the payment is in USD, EUR, GBP, or CAD. For more information, please view Receiving an International Wire
Can I still receive funds in other currencies?
You can still receive funds in non-USD currency using your Swift Network details until March 31st, 2025. After this date, you can only receive funds in EUR, GBP and CAD using your Local Network details. Please note that these funds will automatically convert to USD as Relay accounts can only hold funds in USD.
For more information on exchange fees, please see Converting Currency in Relay.
Why is this change happening?
Our international wire transfers are processed by our wire partner, Currency Cloud. Due to changes in their policies, they will no longer accept non-USD currencies via the Swift network.
Which currencies are affected?
- USD wires can still be received via the Swift network.
- EUR, GBP, and CAD wires must be received using the Local Netowrk instead of Swift.
How will this impact my international payments?
If you receive payments in EUR, GBP, or CAD, the sender must use the Local Network instead of Swift. USD wires can still be sent via Swift as usual.
What do I need to do?
If you receive international payments:
- Notify your senders about the change before March 31, 2025.
- Ensure that EUR, GBP, and CAD payments are sent via Local Network instead of Swift.
- Use the appropriate wire details for each currency.
