When inviting team members and advisors to a Relay account, a user role or permission level must be chosen before sending an email invite. The permission level dictates user access to the account. Permission levels can be changed after a team member joins. This article explains the access that each permission level holds.
Relay Business Account Permissions
Administrator
An administrator has access to manage the entire Relay account, including bank accounts, cards, payments, integrations, and team members. They can transfer funds and initiate payments. Administrators can remote deposit checks on the mobile app.
Owners of the organization are automatically administrators.
Managing team members allows administrators to add their team to Relay, and edit their permissions and account access.
This permission has access to all bank accounts created in the Accounts tab.
Bill Payer
A bill payer can make payments from and view transactions for specified accounts. Payments include ACH, wire, and check.
Administrators can select one or more accounts during the invite process. This can be edited in Accounts.
Cardholder
A cardholder has access to manage the corporate card(s) assigned to them and view their transactions.
If you would like to issue an employee-specific card to a team member, please make sure they are a cardholder, manager or administrator.
Manager
Managers have access to view specified accounts, manage corporate cards and invite cardholders.
One or more accounts can be selected for managers during the invite process. This can be edited in Accounts.
Read-only
Read-only allows users to view transactions and statements for specified accounts. They do not have access to impact the account.
One or more accounts can be selected for read-only users during the invite process. This can be edited in Accounts.
Advisor Permissions
Super Administrator
A super administrator is a user permission for advisors (accountants and bookkeepers) to the team. They can manage client accounts, cards, and integrations (Xero, QuickBooks), as well as transfer funds and initiate payments. Super administrators can remotely deposit checks for clients on the mobile app.
This permission has access to all bank accounts created in the Accounts tab.
Administrator
An administrator can manage all client accounts, cards, and integrations.
This permission has access to all bank accounts created in the Accounts tab.
Manager
The manager permissions for advisors allows access to view all accounts, cards, and payments, and manage integrations.
This permission has access to all bank accounts created in the Accounts tab.
Bill Payer
Advisors can initiate payments on the client's behalf. Payments include ACH, wire, and check.
This permission has access to all bank accounts created in the Accounts tab.
Read-Only
Read-only allows access to view all accounts, cards, and payments.
