Downloading a bank verification letter (void check or direct deposit form)

Download a Relay bank verification letter (void check / direct deposit)

A bank verification letter from Relay verifies your account details for payroll, payment processors, vendors, or other external parties. It can stand in for voided checks, direct deposit forms, or bank signature cards. This guide shows how to download the letter, what’s inside it, who can download it, and answers common questions.

How to download a bank verification letter

  1. Sign in to your Relay account.
  2. Go to the Accounts tab.
  3. Select the account you need the bank verification letter for.
  4. Click the three vertical dots next to the Add money button.
  5. Choose Request Bank Verification Letter from the menu.
  6. The letter is generated as a PDF and saved to your device — typically your browser’s Downloads folder.
Tip: The downloaded file name usually includes your business name and the date. Open the PDF to confirm all details before sending it to any third party.

What’s included in a Relay bank verification letter

Every bank verification letter generated by Relay includes:

  • The date the letter was downloaded
  • Your name, business name, and business address
  • Your account number and routing number
  • Account type (checking or savings)
  • Date the account was opened
  • A signature
  • Relay’s letterhead and Relay contact information

This information satisfies most payroll providers, vendors, and payment processors that accept a bank verification letter in place of a voided check or direct deposit form.

If the default letter doesn’t include everything you need

If a payment processor, payroll provider, or vendor requires extra information not on the default Relay letter, contact our Customer Experience Team so we can review the request and advise or provide additional documentation if possible.
