How to Register a Second Business with the Same Login

Overview

If you own or manage multiple businesses, Relay makes it easy to register and manage separate business bank accounts—under a single login. You don’t need to create a new email or user profile for each business.

This article walks you through how to register your second (or third) business account, what to expect during the application, and how to switch between businesses once approved.


Can I Use the Same Login for Multiple Businesses?

Yes. Relay supports multiple business registrations per user profile. You’ll use the same email and password to access all your business accounts within Relay.

Each business must:

  • Be legally registered and operate in the U.S.

  • Go through its own application and approval process

  • Have its own EIN and formation documents

Please Note: You cannot change the entity type of a business after approval. If your business structure changes (e.g., from Sole Prop to LLC), you must open a new account and register the new entity.


How to Register a Second Business

  1. Sign into your Relay account.
  2. Click Your Business Name in the Top Left Corner
  3. In your dashboard, click the drop-down next to your current business name. You’ll see an option that says "+ Add another business" or "+ Add another client"
  4. Complete the new Business Application
    • Enter your new business’s legal name and details
    • Provide business owner information
    • Upload required documents (EIN letter, Articles of Incorporation, ID, etc.)
    • Each business must submit its own unique information and documents. You cannot reuse EIN or formation documents between applications.
  5. Submit and Track Your Application.
    • You’ll receive a confirmation email and can track the second application’s status from your dashboard.

Switching Between Businesses

Once approved, you can toggle between your businesses at any time.

On Desktop:

Use the drop-down menu in the top-left corner of your dashboard header (next to your business name) and select the business you want to switch to.

On Mobile:

  1. Open the Relay mobile app.

  2. Tap Settings in the bottom navigation bar.

  3. Select Switch Business.

  4. Choose the business you want to view.

Each business:

  • Has its own checking and savings accounts

  • Has its own team member permissions and settings

  • Operates independently within your single login
