Cancelling a recurring or scheduled payment

This article will walk through how to cancel an individual upcoming transaction from a recurring payment set-up, as well as how to cancel all future transactions from a recurring payment.

Please note: cancelling an upcoming scheduled transaction by following the below steps will only cancel that specific queued payment from the recurring payment set-up. If you would like to cancel all future payments for a particular recurring payment set-up, please skip to the section How to cancel a recurring payment set-up.

How to cancel an upcoming payment from a recurring set-up

  1. Sign in to your Relay account.
  2. Navigate to the Payments tab.
  3. Click Scheduled transactions.
  4. Select the payment you would like to cancel.
  5. A window will appear on the right-hand side of your screen. Scroll down, then click on the green Cancel Transaction button.

How to cancel a recurring payment set-up

If you wish to cancel an entire recurring payment set-up, and not just an individual transaction, please follow the steps outlined below.

Please note: this can only be done via desktop at this time, as this feature is not currently supported on the Relay mobile app.

  1. Sign in to your Relay account on your desktop.
  2. Navigate to the Payments tab, then select Recurring payments from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on the recurring payment set-up that you would like to cancel.
  4. A window will pop up on the right-hand side. At the bottom of this window, click Cancel Transfer.
  5. Confirm cancellation request by clicking Cancel recurring payment

Can I edit a scheduled transaction?

Scheduled transactions cannot be edited at this time; if you wish to adjust the payment amount, start date, or end date of a scheduled transaction, you must cancel the transaction and create a new one.
