Important Update: Changes to Non-USD Swift Network Payments (Effective July 24, 2025)

We’re making changes to our international wire transfer capabilities. Starting July 24, 2024, Relay will temporarily no longer support sending non-USD international Swift Network wires due to changes made by our partner, Currencycloud's banking provider.

This change does not affect USD-denominated international wires or any local wire and ACH transfers. We know this can be disruptive, and we are working on providing a solution to impacted users as soon as possible.

What’s not changing:

  • You can continue to send USD payments via Swift.
  • All local payments and transfers (ACH, EFT) remain fully available.

What’s changing?

Effective July 24, 2025:

  • Non-USD Swift payments will not be available to users until reverification is completed.
  • Any future-dated non-USD Swift wires will be cancelled.

Who is impacted?

This change affects any customer currently sending non-USD wires via the Swift network. To reduce disruption, users will be invited to complete a reverification process that allows continued access to these services.

What is the reverification process?

The reverification process is a compliance requirement introduced by Currencycloud. It can include:

  • A short onboarding form.
  • Document verification for international transfers, which may include uploading recent statements or updated ID documents.
  • You will be issued new account numbers for receiving International Swift network wires and Local network wires (for all currencies), which you can use to update any payors

If you're eligible for this Beta onboarding, you’ll receive a direct message from our team with the next steps. Once the Beta is complete, other users will be able to complete the new Currencycloud onboarding process to enable international wire payments for all networks and supported currencies. If you believe you should be included and haven’t received a message by that date, feel free to reach out to us.

Eligible users:

  • Will be contacted by June 24, 2025.
  • Will need to complete the reverification process to continue using non-USD Swift Network wires.

What happens to rejected transactions?

Payments sent to disabled non-USD Swift accounts will be rejected and returned to the sender. The method and timing of the return will depend on the sending bank.
