To participate in the Relay Capital (Beta) program, your business must not fall under any of the prohibited industries outlined below. These restrictions are in place to comply with our lending partner, Fundbox.
By registering with Relay Capital, you confirm that your business does not engage in any of the activities listed here. Any account found using Relay Capital in connection with a prohibited business may be subject to termination.
What industries are prohibited?
Adult entertainment and services
This includes pornography, sexually explicit media (literature, imagery, video), prostitution, escort services, and adult live chat features.
Firearms and ammunition
Any business involved in the sale, distribution, or manufacture of firearms or ammunition.
Online gaming and gambling
Including but not limited to: bidding fee auctions, fantasy sports leagues with cash prizes, internet gaming, sports forecasting, odds making, contests, sweepstakes, and any games of chance.
Marijuana-related businesses
This includes businesses that directly touch the plant or operate under state-issued marijuana licenses:
- Marijuana dispensaries
- Growers or cultivators
- THC oil/extract manufacturers
- Edible product producers
Money Services Businesses (MSBs) and financial institutions
The following types of financial entities are not permitted:
- Money transmitters
- Currency dealers or exchanges
- Check cashing services
- Wire transfer businesses
- Money order providers
- Bail bonds services
- Collection agencies
- Banks and credit unions
- Insurance companies
- Investment companies, including VC firms and lenders
- Law firms collecting funds for any purpose other than their service fees
Nonprofit organizations
At this time, nonprofits are not eligible to participate in Relay Capital.
