This article will walk through how to cancel an existing Relay subscription. After your Relay subscription has been canceled, you will still have access to its features/benefits until the end of your current billing cycle.
Please note: Relay subscriptions can only be canceled or changed by a business owner with Administrator permissions or an advisor with Super Administrator permissions. Relay subscriptions can only be canceled via desktop, as this feature is not currently supported on the Relay mobile app.
Cancelling your subscription as a business owner
- Sign in to your Relay account on your desktop.
- Navigate to the Settings tab.
- Click Plans and Billing.
- Click on the View Plans.
- Click on the Starter Plan.
- You will then be prompted to tell us why you are changing your subscription. This is an optional step, though we do encourage your feedback!
- Click Confirm
Cancelling a Relay Subscription on behalf of a client
As an accountant or bookkeeper managing a Relay client's account, you have the option to pay for a subscription on behalf of your clients. Alternatively, you can invite your clients to use a Relay Subscription, in which case each client pays for their own subscription.
If you need to cancel a Relay subscription on behalf of your client:
- Sign in to your Relay account on your desktop.
- Within your Partner Portal, click on the three vertical dots at the far-right end of the client’s business name.
- Click Subscription settings.
- Click the red Cancel Plan button under Plans and Billing.
- You will then be prompted to tell us why you are canceling this subscription. This is an optional step, though we do encourage your feedback!
- Click Confirm cancellation.
Please note: your client will lose access to all subscription benefits at the end of their current billing cycle.
After you've cancelled your subscription
You can cancel a Relay subscription at any time, and you will maintain access to the Relay subscription-specific functionality until the end of your current billing cycle.
If you are on 14-day free trial and you do not wish to renew your Relay subscription after your trial expires, you must initiate your cancellation before the end of your trial period to ensure that you are not charged. You will still have access to subscription-specific features until the end of your trial period.
