The Relay Visa® Credit Card helps businesses manage cash flow, control team spending, and earn up to 1.5% cash back. This article explains how to apply, what’s required, and how your credit limit is determined.
Relay Visa® Credit Card Eligibility Criteria
Your business must be:
- U.S.-incorporated and -operated
- Structured as an LLC, General Partnership, or Corporation (not a Sole Proprietorship)
- Owned by U.S.-based beneficial owners
To qualify for the card, your business must meet one of the following:

Option 1:
- $50,000+ in average monthly revenue (last 3 months)
- Business is at least 12 months old

Option 2:
- $20,000+ in average monthly revenue (last 3 months)
- Business is at least 6 months old
- Maintain at least $25,000 in Relay at the time of application
If your business qualifies, you'll see an in-app invitation to apply.
How to Submit Your Credit Card Application
To apply from your desktop or mobile application, click the credit card offer you will see in several parts of the application, if eligible. Follow these steps:
- Review and edit your business details if needed
- Connect an external business bank account (if prompted). This is optional if your business has at least 90 days of account history with Relay. If you have less than 90 days of history, you may be asked to connect an external account to help us review your application.
- Select a primary and backup payment account
- Confirm your cardholder name(s) and shipping address
- Click Submit Application
You’ll receive an email and an in-app confirmation after your application is reviewed. If approved, we’ll confirm your credit limit.
Understanding Your Credit Limit
Your credit limit may be based on:
- Cash balances held in your Relay accounts (cash-based underwriting), or
- Other underwriting criteria are determined during review
If you qualify for a cash-based limit, you'll need to maintain at least $25,000 in your Relay accounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Relay business account to apply for the credit card?
Yes — an approved Relay business account is required to apply.
Can I apply if I’m a sole proprietor?
No — the Relay Visa® Credit Card is not currently available to sole proprietorships.
What happens if my Relay balance drops below $25,000?
If your limit is cash-based, your credit limit may be reduced to $0. If you have an active balance, access to your Relay accounts may be temporarily frozen until funds are replenished.
Will Relay check my credit score when I apply?
No — Relay does not check your personal or business credit score during the application process.
Can I change my auto-payment accounts later?
Yes — you can update your primary or backup payment account anytime. See Changing your primary or backup payment account.
What if I made a mistake on my application?
Contact our Customer Experience team to correct any errors after submitting.
Can I reapply if my application is denied?
