On Relay, you can send international wires in non-USD currencies when initiating the payment from your desktop. Read on to learn more!
Before you start
Converting payments into a non-USD currency is only available Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM EST. You can still send international wires in USD outside of this timeframe.
If you have not yet created a payee for the international wire you are sending, please see Adding and archiving a payee for instructions on how to do so.
How to convert currency
- Sign in to your Relay account on your desktop.
- Navigate to the Payments tab.
- Click New Payment at the top-right corner of your screen.
- Scroll down to Payment Method options and select International Wire.
- Fill out all of the required fields, as outlined in this article.
- When specifying the payment amount, use the drop-down menu to select your desired currency.
- Fill out all of the remaining required fields, then finalize your payment.
Please note: if you were billed in the recipient's local currency, you can adjust the receiving amount to ensure your payee will receive the exact amount you were billed.
Exchange rate and fees
Relay refreshes exchange rates every 60 seconds to update the rate based on the foreign exchange market. Relay will apply a competitive exchange rate fee—as little as 1%—when converting currencies. To learn what currencies are available to convert, please see Currencies available in Relay.
